We had an awesome time at the M3 Rock Fest this past Saturday promoting the cruise. A special thanks goes out to everyone at 930 and Merriweather Post for taking care of us, and especially to ShipRockers Sydna and Kathryn who were on hand to help us throughout the day!
We were able to catch bits and pieces of the main-stage shows, and saw nearly all of the 2nd-stage acts, since our booth was positioned right in front of the entrance with a unobstructed view. All of the performances we caught were great. Our good pal Allyson from Bring Back Glam has a pretty spot-on festival wrap-up over at her joint. I was especially impressed with Y&T and Extreme, neither of whom I had seen live before.
However, as far as your ShipRocked crew is concerned, it was Steel Panther who stole the day. They were superbly talented and completely hysterical. Ms. Gigi even got hit on by drummer Stix Zadinia backstage! Sadly, we were too wiped out at the end of the day to attend their apparently debaucherous after-show show.
Throughout the day we met lots of great folks (some of whom were already ShipRockers!) and we signed up thousands of fans for our free cruise giveaway. Our lucky winner was Paul Smith of Winchester MD, who was there celebrating his birthday! Glad we could make it an even happier one, and we’ll look forward to seeing Paul and his guest on the ship!

Definately a great show. I had tickets in the pavillion and KIX was awesome as usual. The hometown fanbase really made it a special show for them. I also will be on the cruise and really looking forward to November. For those who missed the show, this link will send you to some video’s of KIX at the M3 festival for anyone interested.
